Categories of Membership
1. CHARTER MEMBERS - Charter Members shall only include
those members who are the signatories of the original charter of the Regiment, plus those elected as such at any general meeting
(Regimental Assembly) of members in recognition of long-term service and/or “service above and beyond the call of duty”.
This group will be very limited in number. Charter Members are voting members.
2. FENCIBLE MEMBERS - This is the regular category,
which includes those members who are actively participating in the majority (50+%) of the Regiment's activities, including
re-enacting, social events, search and rescue, etc. Fencible Members will form the active core of the Regiment. Fencible Members
are voting members.
3.
SEDENTARY MEMBERS - This special category includes those members who only participate in activities occasionally
or not at all, that is, participating less than 50% of the Regiments activities. It will mostly consist of persons interested
in history, public service, and the Regiment, including archivists, museum and library workers, members of historical and
genealogical societies, and other interested people. Sedentary Members are voting members.
4. AUXILIARY MEMBERS - This category is open primarily
to relatives of members of the three categories above. This allows for family memberships, with one member of the family as
a Charter, Fencible or Sedentary Member and the rest as Auxiliaries. Government officials may also be Auxiliary Members. Auxiliary
Members are non-voting members.
5.
BENEFACTOR MEMBERS - This category includes those individuals or businesses who wish to contribute to the financial
support of the Regiment. Benefactor Members are non-voting members.
6. HONORARY MEMBERS - This category includes anyone
who wishes to make a small financial contribution to the Regiment without any active participation. Honorary Members are non-voting
members.
All Fencible
and Sedentary Members must first enlist (take out membership) as Private Soldiers. Promotion to higher rank
will depend on service, the opinions of other members, and the judgement of the Regimental Staff. Promotion may come quickly
or slowly depending on circumstances.
Members may change their category
of membership from year to year, (except Charter Memberships) based their expected level of activity.
All memberships are for
one full year from the date they are received by the Regimental Staff, and expire on the last day of the month received, in
the following year. For example, a membership received on July 10, 2008, will expire on July 31, 2009.
